2006

One week old and not happy!

(that was the only significant snow of the season)

Almost two months old and ready to go!

Not quite a five star hotel but we'll enjoy it!  Anything bigger wouldn't get in my driveway without my blood pressure rising upon returning home due to the numerous visiting vehicles on the street.  No, that is not my driveway in the pic!

DRUMMER BOY - GETTYSBURG 03/31-04/02

It will get better!

 YOGI - HAGERSTOWN, MD 04/07-04/10

Kinda bizarre weekend.  The loose trim ring finally took off!  Temps started at 80 degrees and dropped to 30 degrees with a steady rain.  A statewide fire ban was in place as well, so no campfires.  What a drag!  I love hauling a truck load of wood out and back!  Alex decided to stay inside and not have his pic taken with us!

Ya gotta love it!

DRUMMER BOY (again) 04/28-04/30

   Great weather.  Much more organized.

Dinner is always better when friends bring wine and  cheese!  The beef loin on the grill was great too!

     Talk about different camping styles!

CODORUS (PA) STATE PARK -Father's Day

Hottest weekend to date - 90 plus degrees

YOGI - LURAY, VA 06/26-07/01

Several items flew off the trailer in transit (two more trim rings & a stove exhaust flap). Also forgot to check my list of things to REMEMBER to put back in the trailer!  Oh well!

Contrasting weather all week!  The Shenandoah River was overflowing its banks and this pic did not do it justice!  It was more eerie up close and personal.

 CHERRYSTONE (VA) 07/30/06-08/09/06

Our annual July foray to the Eastern Shore.  The crabs were hiding yet again but the sun was not.  It was simply a laid back and casual time.  The A/C worked overtime!

GIFFORD PINCHOT (PA) STATE PARK 08/06

My kids left me hanging.  First time in 25 years I was camping all by myself!  Well, not really.  My wine and cheese friends (from Drummer Boy) were right next door.  However, I did miss my teenagers.

EAGLES PEAK - ROBESONIA, PA 09/06

Really nice wooded sites and amenities.  My PD was well represented with at least nine colleagues camping and four were from my Precinct.  Even driving three hours away doesn't help!  Hmmm?  Maybe it had something to do with Emergency Services Appreciation Weekend?  We outdid ourselves compared to the same type weekend at Hagerstown (above).  During that gloomy and cold weekend in April, five other Precinct peers did hunker down that weekend despite the weather and fire ban.

GIFFORD PINCHOT 10/06

Sad to say, this was the last trip of 2006. The weather did not short change us for a late October outing.  The temps dropped into the low thirties overnight.  Daylight was crisp with a chill in the air and a lot of wind.  The sites along this row were by far the biggest and nicest I have seen in awhile.  The lake was right at our back door and only $19/night.  What a deal!

Sooooooooo sad!  Time for a winter nappy!

2006 was a good year.  Ten trips and five weeks in the ROO.  It was worth every minute.  I have learned a lot and continue to make modifications on the interior and exterior of the ROO to make our RVing experience a bit more pleasant and user friendly!
